Infinity TSD is currently seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Technician / Field Engineer to support the launch and growth of a new office location in Tampa, Florida. Position Summary
The successful candidate will perform field service work aligned with Infinity TSD’s core business as an Electrical Service Provider and NETA testing company. Over time, this individual will play a key role in establishing operations, supporting customer relationships, and ultimately transitioning into a Territory Manager role.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5–7+ years of experience in electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Experience working with low and medium voltage electrical systems.
NETA certification (or ability to obtain) strongly preferred.
Experience with medium voltage terminations and splicing preferred.
Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
Willingness to travel as needed and support a growing territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Service & Technical Execution
Perform electrical acceptance and maintenance testing in accordance with NETA standards.
Conduct inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems.
Work on low and medium voltage equipment, including:
Switchgear
Switchboards
Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
Transformers
Panels
Circuit breakers
Execute field work in a variety of environments including industrial facilities, hospitals, data centers, and utility sites.
Complete detailed test reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards.
Specialized Technical Skills
Perform medium voltage cable terminations and splicing (preferred).
Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and identify corrective actions.
Support outage planning, startup, and commissioning activities.
Business Development & Territory Growth
Support the development of the new office by building relationships with local clients and partners.
Identify opportunities for additional services within existing and new accounts.
Represent Infinity TSD professionally in the field and during client interactions.
Leadership Development (Path to Territory Manager)
Demonstrate initiative in supporting operational planning and local resource coordination.
Assist in recruiting and mentoring future technicians as the office grows.
Develop an understanding of project management, scheduling, and customer management.
Transition into a leadership role with responsibility for territory operations, team management, and financial performance.
